What should be the text on the home page? The answer to this question can literally be answered in one word: salesy. But it is necessary to prepare a special sales text, which offers the visitor is not a product or service, and the site. Therefore, the text for the home page of the site must be written and composed in a special way.

A common mistake many copywriters – not enough attention to the title of the text from the main page. And sometimes the title is even invented by the administrator or owner of the site. But this work is so responsible that it must be done by a well-trained specialist. After all, the title – something that potential customers or clients see in search results when you enter a query with the name of the goods or services. And on how the headline text on the main page will be able to “catch” the person depends on whether he will go to the site.

Suppose a person came to the site and started reading the article. Statistics show that quite a few users spend no more than a minute on it, and then look for other resources. Why? Yes, because the user needs to immediately explain what he/she is offered on this site. In the introduction to the article it’s completely inappropriate to talk about how many years ago and who founded the company, how it started “with a small shop” or “with a small shop. But it is proper to tell what exactly the company offers: “fifty models of conditioners at the best prices” or something else.

An attempt, as they say, from the ground up to start selling the visitor a product or service. An article on the home page sells something else. It sells … the site. After reading the main part of the article, the user must want to “browse” the site. Because it need to tell him not about the goods or services with a list of all the “menu”, and about the benefits of the company in comparison with competitors: the attractive prices, promotions, loyalty programs, exclusive offers (in short).  

And in the final part of the article it is important to briefly describe what the user will find in various sections of the site, to help him navigate.

Of course, the article on the main page of the site should be optimized for the requirements of search engines: contain appropriate keywords and phrases. But you need to avoid overspam. In particular, don’t allow keyword phrases to account for more than 6% of the total length of the article.
